The Associated Press framed the finish around Lamar Jackson's 27-yard completion to Zay Flowers and an alert timeout with one second left that set up Loop. Per ESPN's box, Prescott finished 25 of 40 for 276 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions for a 91.2 passer rating as Dallas fell to 1-2. Baltimore improved to 2-1 in the NFL's first regular-season game in Rio.
Early lead, then a long climb
Dallas jumped ahead 10-0. Brandon Aubrey opened with a 28-yard field goal, and Javonte Williams finished a short drive with a 2-yard touchdown run after the Cowboys' defense stuffed Derrick Henry on fourth-and-1 near midfield, the Cowboys' site reported.
Henry answered with touchdown runs of 4 and 3 yards, and Loop added a 27-yard field goal as Baltimore seized a 17-10 edge. Aubrey's 38-yarder trimmed it to 17-13 at halftime. Safety Jalen Thompson left in the second quarter with a hamstring injury, the AP and team recap both noted.
Jackson's 4-yard touchdown pass to Chris Moore pushed the Ravens ahead 24-13 in the third after Keondre Jackson blocked Aubrey's 59-yard try. Prescott answered immediately: a 19-yard touchdown to Jake Ferguson and a two-point throw that CeeDee Lamb secured, cutting the deficit to 24-21.
Goal-line stop, then the 96-yard answer
Rookie linebacker Jaishawn Barham dropped Henry for a loss on fourth-and-inches from the Dallas 3 early in the fourth, the AP reported. Prescott then directed a 96-yard touchdown drive highlighted by a 49-yard catch by Lamb. KaVontae Turpin's 9-yard run put Dallas in front 28-24 with under 10 minutes left.
Jackson found rookie tight end Matt Hibner for a 2-yard score and a 31-28 Baltimore lead with 1:30 remaining. Prescott still had time. He completed three passes for 36 yards and scrambled twice for 9, the Cowboys' recap said, before a pass-interference call on Nate Wiggins against Lamb moved the ball to the Ravens 2.
