Devils dominate second period
New Jersey established an early advantage on Tuesday, October 27, at the American Airlines Center before pulling away decisively in the middle frame. The visitors outscored the home side 4-1 during the second period, creating a deficit that Dallas could not overcome. With 18,532 fans in attendance, the Stars struggled to find consistent offensive rhythm against the visiting defense.
Nico Hischier opened the scoring in the first period with a snap shot, assisted by Luke Evangelista and Johnathan Kovacevic. He added his second goal early in the second period, this time with assists from Timo Meier and Luke Hughes. The momentum shifted further when Jesper Boqvist scored on a wrist shot, assisted by Jack Hughes and Arseny Gritsyuk, extending the lead to 3-0.
Stars score, but fall behind
Dallas’s only goal of the night came in the second period. Justin Hryckowian tapped in a pass to make it 3-1, with assists from Tyler Myers and Colin Blackwell. It was a brief spark for the home team, but the Devils responded immediately. Luke Hughes scored on a wrist shot, assisted by Dougie Hamilton and Anthony Mantha, to restore the four-goal cushion.
Hryckowian finished with one goal and one point, while Tyler Myers recorded one assist. For the Stars, these were their primary offensive contributions in a game where they managed only one total goal. The team’s record now stands at 7-4-1 with 15 points.
