Dallas ISD has opened applications for its choice schools and programs for the 2027-28 school year, and the district is inviting families to Fair Park next weekend to compare options in person.
The district's Choose Dallas ISD page says applications for 2027-28 are now open through the online portal at choosedallasisd.schoolmint.com. A SchoolFinder tool on the same site lets families search campuses by program.
The fair
Discover Dallas ISD runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, in the Automobile Building at Fair Park. The district bills it as the largest school fair in North Texas, with representatives from more than 200 schools.
Campus teams will be on hand to help families fill out applications on site, including for application-based schools and Legacy School transfers, according to a district post. The program also lists student performances, bands, STEM demonstrations, a career exploration truck and free food, along with gift card drawings sponsored by the Dallas Education Foundation.
What families can apply for
The choice lineup covers career institutes and P-TECH and early college schools for grades 9 through 12, where students can earn tuition-free college credit, as well as Montessori campuses through eighth grade and early learning programs for 3- and 4-year-olds.
Magnet, dual language, International Baccalaureate, single-gender, STEM and STEAM, talented and gifted, personalized learning and visual and performing arts programs serve grades from prekindergarten through 12.
