Dallas police have taken two men into custody regarding a deadly shooting that occurred at a local gas station last June. Authorities are also actively looking for a third individual linked to the incident.
Shyheim Muhhamed, 31, and Anthony Robinson, 28, were apprehended on July 2 by the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force. Both individuals face charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to police documents.
The violence took place on June 27 in the 3900 block of Linfield Road. Police identified the victim as Nigel Calhoun, who was fatally shot. Another person riding in Calhoun’s vehicle sustained injuries during the attack. The vehicle subsequently crashed into a parked car before the perpetrators escaped the scene.
Arrest affidavits indicate that surveillance footage captured three individuals approaching Calhoun’s vehicle and discharging an assault-style rifle along with two handguns. Investigators believe the attack may have been retaliation for a prior shooting in the same vicinity.
The affidavit for Robinson alleges he was among those who approached the car and fired a handgun. The document for Muhhamed claims he operated the getaway vehicle. Both affidavits reference surveillance video, police records, and cellphone or vehicle-location data to support the charges.
