Rad Radio DFW has begun streaming in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, offering a format centered on alternative music from the 1990s. The station, owned by Treehouse Media, is accessible through a dedicated mobile application available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play. Its programming primarily highlights songs that defined the 1990s, while also including selected tracks from the 1980s and 2000s.

The station operates under the slogan "1990s. Forever."

Co-founders Dan O'Malley and Rebekah Black stated that the station was developed to provide a locally focused alternative to an industry increasingly influenced by national programming, consolidation, and automation. O'Malley, a 27-year radio veteran and owner of Treehouse Media, explained that the goal is to adapt the engaging aspects of past radio formats to modern listening habits.

"There's an entire generation in DFW that grew up with radio personalities who felt like part of their day and stations that genuinely felt connected to this area," O'Malley said. "We're not trying to recreate 1996. We're taking what made radio fun then and building something for the way people listen now."

Black emphasized the importance of direct connection between the hosts and the audience. "We want this to feel like DFW's station, not just a station you can hear in DFW," Black said. "The personalities are real, the interaction is real, and the people listening are part of what we're building. That connection is what made great radio special in the first place."

The weekday schedule features a lineup of local hosts. The day begins with "Rad Mornings with Rebekah and Dan" from 7 to 9 a.m. Angela Chase hosts from 9 a.m. to noon, followed by Greg Jake from noon to 3 p.m. and Cruz from 3 to 6 p.m.

The evening programming includes Torrez and "The DudeBro Show" from 6 to 9 p.m., with Jessie hosting from 9 p.m. to midnight.

Listeners can interact with the station through a feature called Rad Chat within the app. This tool allows users to submit song requests and send messages or voice notes directly to the station and its personalities.
