From statewide standings to pediatric orthopedics, hospitals earn top rankings

Children’s Medical Center Dallas and Cook Children’s Medical Center ranked among Texas’ five highest-rated pediatric hospitals.

Fort Worth is about 31 miles west of Dallas. Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth ranked fifth among Texas pediatric hospitals and sixth in the Southwest Region, according to the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings.

Children’s Medical Center Dallas placed second in Texas and second in the Southwest Region, which includes Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arizona. Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston ranked first in both categories, while Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin was fourth statewide.

The specialty listings also ranked Scottish Rite for Children first in the nation for pediatric orthopedics. U.S. News said the 20th anniversary edition recognized 90 children’s hospitals across 34 states and Washington, D.C. The complete rankings are available through U.S. News & World Report.
