High school football district competition is set to begin this week across the Dallas region, with several highly ranked programs entering the schedule with perfect records. The Dallas Morning News has identified the most competitive divisions, offering predictions for where each title race may end.
In District 5-6A, four teams remain undefeated: Denton Braswell, Flower Mound, Little Elm and Lewisville. Flower Mound recently secured its spot in the area rankings following a 42-24 victory over Fort Worth Boswell in Week 3. The Dallas Morning News has selected Denton Guyer to capture the district title.
Guyer was a regional finalist in the 2025 Division II playoffs. Lewisville presents a strong challenge, boasting the second-highest scoring offense among area 6A teams with an average of 51.3 points per game.
District 6-6A features three undefeated squads: Allen, Prosper and Prosper Walnut Grove. Allen holds the top spot in the local 6A rankings and sits fourth statewide. The Dallas Morning News picked Allen to win the district, noting the program went undefeated in district play last season before reaching the Division I state semifinals.
Prosper, ranked fourth locally and tenth statewide, climbed five spots in the regional poll after defeating Austin Westlake, a four-time state champion, 49-40 in Week 3.
North Forney, Rockwall and Rockwall-Heath lead District 10-6A, while Longview ranks 16th in the statewide poll. The Dallas Morning News favored North Forney to take the district crown. However, North Forney has yet to secure a win this season, suffering narrow defeats to Prosper and Lancaster in its first three games. In 2025, North Forney and Forney both finished with 5-1 district records.
