Lyft is bringing back a discounted-transportation offer for North Texas voters on Nov. 3, providing half-price qualifying rides, bike trips and scooter trips to polling locations across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Riders can enter the code VOTE26 from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. that day to receive 50% off, with the discount capped at $10, when traveling to a polling location. Dallas County polling places are scheduled to operate from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to the county website.
The promotion is part of Lyft Up Voting Access, a nonpartisan company program. Lyft representative Sabiha Nur said the company has previously offered free or reduced-cost transportation during presidential, midterm and some runoff elections.
Nur said almost 4 million people have used Lyft to reach polling places, deliver ballots or attend voter registration and related events. For the current election cycle, Lyft is working with groups including the League of Women Voters, National Coalition for Homeless Veterans and Students Learn Students Vote Coalition.
The company said the partnerships are intended to support older voters, people with disabilities, students, veterans and lower-income communities that may encounter transportation barriers.
