Kennard leads Phoenix

Luke Kennard scored 20 points as the Phoenix Suns defeated the San Antonio Spurs 102-98 on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, at Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix. Phoenix, the home team, improved to 1-2, while San Antonio fell to 0-2.

The Suns also received five assists from Jalen Green and 15 rebounds from Khaman Maluach. Dylan Harper led the Spurs with 15 points, while Victor Wembanyama had six assists and Luke Kornet collected 10 rebounds.

Suns build an early lead

Phoenix took control in the opening quarter, outscoring San Antonio 35-25. The Suns extended the margin in the second quarter, though the Spurs narrowed the gap by halftime by winning that period 26-23. Phoenix carried a 58-51 lead into the break.

Kennard connected on multiple shots during Phoenix’s first-half attack, including 3-pointers in the first and second quarters. Green also made a pair of 3-pointers in the opening period, and the Suns’ lead reached 35-20 before San Antonio closed the quarter with five consecutive points.

Spurs rally in fourth

Phoenix added to its advantage in the third quarter, outscoring San Antonio 27-22. The Suns led 85-73 entering the final period after Kennard made another 3-pointer late in the third.

San Antonio responded in the fourth, winning the quarter 25-17. The Spurs cut the deficit to four points at 102-98 after Maliq Brown made a 26-foot 3-pointer, but Phoenix remained ahead on the final score.

The Suns finished with a 102-98 victory, while the Spurs closed the game with 98 points. Phoenix is now 1-2, and San Antonio is 0-2.
