Angela Stanford is returning to TCU as an assistant coach for the university’s women’s golf team, rejoining the program where she set multiple records as a player. Stanford is from Saginaw, which is about 15 miles from Fort Worth.
Stanford played for the Horned Frogs from 1996 through 2000. She earned All-American honors at TCU four times, a program record that no other player has matched, and her 10 victories remain the school standard.
Head coach Ravaioli-Larkin expressed strong enthusiasm about Stanford’s return and identified her as the team’s third coach. The coach also pointed to Stanford’s background as a major champion and her work leading the U.S. Solheim Cup team.
The hiring followed Stanford’s recent tenure as U.S. captain at the Solheim Cup. TCU did not provide additional information about what her responsibilities with the team will include.
