Cowboys safety Jalen Thompson is expected to be sidelined for at least four weeks because of a hamstring injury, executive vice president Stephen Jones said Monday. The injury could lead to Thompson being placed on injured reserve, although that move has not been confirmed.
Thompson was hurt during the second quarter of Dallas’ 34-31 loss to the Ravens in Rio de Janeiro. Before leaving the game, he had taken every defensive snap during the Cowboys’ first nine-plus quarters of the season and recorded 17 tackles.
The injury adds to the team’s absences at safety. Malik Hooker has missed the past two games with a forearm injury, while P.J. Locke was placed on injured reserve Saturday. CBSSports.com reported the update.
