Jones said the team has the foundation to improve and that his comments about an "old man with money" were made in a football context. He also said the offense needs to become more effective running the ball.
Jones gave positive assessments of defensive tackles Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark. He described Williams as one of the league's top players and said Clark's consistency provides Dallas with a strong presence in the middle of its defense. Jones also said Williams was not dealing with an injury after appearing slow to get up on several plays against Washington.
The Cowboys are scheduled to meet the Ravens at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. Questions about the stadium's playing surface had circulated on social media after Flamengo, which uses the venue for home matches, played there.
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Dallas' operations staff had been communicating with the league and that he did not have concerns about the field, adding that he trusted the league to bring it up to standard.
