SMU has added fifth-year guard Oziyah Sellers to its men’s basketball program, the school announced. Sellers has enrolled at SMU and is practicing with the team while awaiting a decision on his eligibility.
Sellers comes to Dallas after starting 36 games for St. John’s in 2025-26. He averaged 10.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists as the Red Storm finished 30-7 and won the Big East championship.
Before joining St. John’s, Sellers spent the 2024-25 season at Stanford, where he started every game and averaged 13.7 points per contest in the ACC. He previously played two seasons at USC under SMU head coach Andy Enfield.
Sellers has made 37.8% of his career three-point attempts and shot a career-high 42.9% from beyond the arc as a sophomore at USC. He has also converted 86.9% of his free throws.
The addition comes as SMU begins its third season with Enfield and enters 2026-27 with a transfer class ranked No. 21 nationally by On3. The school’s announcement did not provide a timeline for Sellers’ eligibility status.
