The Houston Texans are increasingly hopeful that Pro Bowl wide receiver Nico Collins and guard Ed Ingram will return for Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. Neither player has appeared in the past two games.
Coach DeMeco Ryans said the team is optimistic about both players’ availability. “We’re hopeful to get both guys back this week,” Ryans said.
Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney remains listed as week-to-week because of a knee injury. He also has missed the last two games. Despite limited depth at the edge position, Houston recorded five sacks and forced two fumbles in its most recent game.
Collins has been a three-time 1,000-yard receiver and a consistent part of Houston’s passing game. During his absence, Xavier Hutchinson has led the Texans in receiving targets, recording nine catches for 120 yards across the past two games. Collins had seven receptions for 75 yards and a touchdown in one game against the Buffalo Bills.
Ingram’s absence has moved Wyatt Teller into the starting role at right guard. Houston has gained 130 rushing yards and scored one rushing touchdown over the past two games. The Texans’ game against Dallas is scheduled to begin at noon at Reliant Stadium.
