SMU heads into Saturday’s home game against Boston College with renewed competition on special teams and a kicking game that has produced three field goals in seven attempts through four games.

Coach Rhett Lashlee has reopened roles across the units and expects offensive and defensive starters to contribute, according to Oct. 1 reporting by The Dallas Morning News’ Lia Assimakopoulos, syndicated by Yahoo Sports.

In the Sept. 26 win over Missouri State, Nick Reed missed a 29-yard field goal and Brendan Baird missed from 42 yards, SMU’s official game record shows. The Mustangs won 34–24.

The next test comes Oct. 3 at Gerald J. Ford Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. Central, with television coverage on The CW. SMU’s game preview links to tickets and game-day information.
