Gabriel Brooks has changed his commitment from Stephen F. Austin to TCU, giving the Horned Frogs another member of their 2027 recruiting class. Brooks announced the decision on social media Sept. 17, saying conversations with his family and personal prayer helped guide the move. He also said staying close to home was part of the decision.

Brooks, a 6-foot-5, 265-pound offensive tackle, had mainly received scholarship offers from Football Championship Subdivision schools, including Stephen F. Austin and Southern University. TCU is his first offer from a Football Bowl Subdivision program. Brooks selected the chance to compete in a Power Four conference.

North Crowley began the season 3-0 with victories over Aledo, Southlake Carroll and Summer Creek, which is from the Houston area. The Panthers are scheduled to visit Duncanville at 7 p.m. Friday. Brooks is the 19th commitment in TCU’s 2027 group. The class stands 54th nationally and eighth in the Big 12, according to a report from sports.yahoo.com.
