Texans starting linebacker Henry To'oTo'o will miss time because of a shoulder injury sustained in the season-opening loss to Buffalo, coach DeMeco Ryans said Monday. The team has not decided whether to place him on injured reserve.
To'oTo'o was hurt while bringing down Bills tight end Dawson Knox with 2:34 left in the fourth quarter of Houston's 36-31 defeat. He received help standing up, went to the sideline and did not return. Ryans said the team will evaluate the situation before making a roster decision.
The injury comes as Houston prepares for three upcoming games against teams that ranked among the NFL's top 12 scoring offenses last season. The Texans will host Cincinnati, visit Indianapolis and then play Dallas at home.
Buffalo's 36 points were the second-highest total Houston has allowed during Ryans' tenure. The Texans gave up 37 points to Tampa Bay in 2023, and Sunday's game marked their first time allowing more than 30 points since a 31-point performance by Baltimore in a 2024 Christmas matchup.
