Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins did not practice Friday as he manages a hamstring injury sustained earlier in the week, leaving his availability for the team’s Week 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals uncertain.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport discussed Collins’ status on The Pat McAfee Show. Rapoport said Collins also missed Thursday’s practice and described his prospects for Sunday’s game as unfavorable, while noting that the injury does not appear to be serious. “Nico Collins did not practice today. That's not good,” Rapoport said.

Collins was hurt during Houston’s Wednesday practice. A source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the receiver was uncertain to play against Cincinnati, while team doctors did not believe the injury was serious after meeting with Collins following practice.

The 27-year-old opened the 2026 season with seven catches for 75 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets in Houston’s 36-31 loss to the Buffalo Bills. He entered the season having recorded more than 1,000 receiving yards in each of the previous three years.

Collins’ official status for Week 2 has not yet been determined. If he does not play, the source said he could be available for Houston’s Week 3 game against the Indianapolis Colts on Sept. 27.
