Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins could miss the team’s Week 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals after suffering a hamstring injury at practice. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that doctors did not believe the injury was serious, but Collins’ availability for Sunday remains in question.

If Collins does not play, the Texans’ receiving group would change, and tight end Dalton Schultz could take on a larger role in the passing game. The source identifies Schultz as Houston’s top tight end and notes that he finished 2025 with 82 receptions for 777 yards, leading the team in catches.

Schultz also had a major opportunity when Collins missed a Week 7 game against the Seattle Seahawks last season because of a concussion. He led Houston with 10 targets in that game and finished with nine receptions for 98 yards, according to the report.

Collins’ final status for the Bengals game was not yet clear in the report. The Texans also could choose to limit his playing time because of his injury history, which includes a Grade 2 hamstring strain in 2024 that resulted in a stint on injured reserve.
