The Stars’ 4-0 opening loss to St. Louis on Oct. 2 included a major penalty that did not produce five uninterrupted minutes with an extra skater.

At 2:49 of the third period, Brandon Carlo received a five-minute major; Thomas Harley received a two-minute minor at the same stoppage.

Two minutes of four-on-four came first, followed by a Dallas power play of less than three minutes.

Dallas finished the opener 0-for-4 on the power play. The shortened chance did not produce a goal.
