Part of Dallas sits in Texas House District 102, and voters there can see both of the district's candidates side by side on Thursday, Oct. 8, when the League of Women Voters of Richardson holds a candidate forum.
The event starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Richardson ISD Administration Building, 400 S. Greenville Ave. in Richardson. Admission is free, and people do not need to register.
Who is running
Listed in the order they appear on the ballot, the candidates are Republican Bonnie Abadie and Democrat Ana-María Rodríguez Ramos, the incumbent, who has held the seat since 2019. According to the League, both have agreed to attend. For background on the candidates, the League directs voters to VOTE411.org.
Besides part of Dallas, the district takes in parts of Richardson and Garland and the town of Addison.
Asking a question
Voters can submit questions at the forum or send them in advance by email to forums@lwvrichardson.org; the League says both kinds are treated the same. The League checks each question for relevance, repeats and inappropriate content under the state League's forum rules, then a moderator reads the questions aloud and each candidate answers all of them.

District 112
No League forum is planned for Texas House District 112, another district that includes part of Dallas. The League says it needs both candidates' consent and that the Republican, Angie Chen Button, declined. Democrat Zach Herbert is also on that ballot.
