Cowboys' Late Rally in Brazil Undone by Ravens' 7-Second Drive, 34-31

The Dallas Cowboys erased an 11-point, third-quarter deficit in Rio de Janeiro and tied the game with seven seconds left. Then the Baltimore Ravens needed only those seven seconds.

Tyler Loop's 56-yard field goal on the final play gave Baltimore a 34-31 win Sunday at Maracanã Stadium, where 72,792 fans watched the NFL's third game in Brazil and its first in Rio. Dallas, the designated home team, fell to 1-2.

How Dallas got back in it

The Cowboys trailed 24-13 after Lamar Jackson's 4-yard touchdown pass to Chris Moore late in the third quarter. They answered within two minutes of game clock: Dak Prescott found Jake Ferguson for a 19-yard touchdown and then hit CeeDee Lamb for a two-point conversion.

KaVontae Turpin's 9-yard touchdown run with 9:42 left gave Dallas a 28-24 lead, capping a stretch of 15 straight Cowboys points after the Moore touchdown.

How it slipped away

Jackson put Baltimore back ahead with a 2-yard touchdown pass to rookie tight end Matt Hibner with 1:30 to play. Prescott moved the Cowboys into field goal range, and Brandon Aubrey tied it from 23 yards with seven seconds left.

On the Ravens' final possession, Jackson completed a 27-yard pass to Zay Flowers and called timeout with one second remaining, the Associated Press reported. Loop's kick was good.

The stat sheet

Prescott threw for 276 yards on 25-of-40 passing. Javonte Williams led Dallas with 98 rushing yards and a touchdown on 19 carries, and Lamb had 112 receiving yards on seven catches. Aubrey made field goals of 28, 38 and 23 yards.

Jackson completed 15 of 20 passes for 186 yards and two touchdowns, and Derrick Henry ran for 89 yards and two touchdowns for the Ravens, who are 2-1.
