Dallas, Texas — Gas prices in the Dallas area averaged $3.9500 per gallon for regular unleaded on September 23, 2026, according to AAA, down from $3.9678 yesterday. That is up from $3.8329 a week ago but higher than $3.5966 a month ago.
The statewide average in Texas stands at $3.9601, while the national average is $4.4744. Drivers in the Dallas area are paying below the state average and below the national average.
The Dallas average remains below its AAA recorded high of $4.8370. Regular prices are about 35 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $2.7562, drivers are paying about 119 cents more per gallon.
Diesel in the Dallas area averages $5.9502 per gallon, AAA reported.
