Neiman Marcus closed its downtown Dallas store on Sept. 30, 2026, according to CBS Texas.

The retailer was founded in Dallas in 1907. Its store at 1618 Main Street opened in 1914 after a fire destroyed an earlier location, according to NBC reporting published by KYMA and Retail Dive.

Parent company Saks Global announced the September closing date in June. In a statement provided to Retail Dive, the company said it was concentrating its Dallas investment at NorthPark Center, where it said customers increasingly preferred to shop.

Neiman Marcus remains listed among NorthPark Center’s stores. Saks has said it plans to bring elements of the downtown location’s history to NorthPark, including a new version of the Zodiac Room restaurant.
