Meanwhile, the Michigan Republican Party is selling floor passes for $5,000 to individuals seeking honorary status.
Marketing materials from the Michigan party clarify that this role does not include convention voting or official responsibilities. Instead, the designation is described as a special recognition granting access to an exclusive experience unavailable to general attendees.
Donors began arriving at luxury Dallas hotels, including the Ritz-Carlton and the Crescent Court, on Tuesday afternoon. While some conservative fundraisers anticipate that many major financial backers will skip the event, others are participating. Representatives for several prominent Republican donors, including Dallas Mavericks owner Miriam Adelson and hedge fund billionaire Ken Griffin, confirmed that these individuals are not scheduled to attend.
