Dallas garbage, recycling and brush/bulky-item collections will run on their usual schedules Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, even as city offices close for Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

The city’s Oct. 7 holiday notice also says McCommas Bluff Landfill and transfer stations will keep their regular hours for residential self-service disposal.

Closures include Municipal Court, all Dallas Public Library locations, recreation centers, parks maintenance facilities, cultural centers and administrative offices. Dallas Water Utilities’ administrative and customer-service offices will also be closed.

The 311 help line will remain available for service requests. Water emergencies should be reported by calling 311; non-emergency requests can be submitted online or through the Dallas 311 app.

Dallas Animal Services’ shelter will operate during its normal business hours, and animal-services officers will continue responding to requests through 311. The department’s administrative offices will be closed.

Library digital collections remain available online. The Office of Arts and Culture says its normal operations resume Tuesday, Oct. 13.
