Baylor will open Big 12 Conference play against Colorado on Saturday with starting quarterback DJ Lagway back in the lineup. The Bears and Buffaloes both enter the matchup at 2-1.
Lagway is set to make his first start since Sept. 5 after an ankle injury in Baylor’s season opener. Coach Dave Aranda said Monday that the medical staff had cleared Lagway to return. Nate Bennett, who started the past two games, will move back to the backup role after completing 75% of his passes for 567 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions.
He also has 15 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns.
Baylor will also have wide receiver Jadon Porter, defensive back Devin Turner and defensive tackle Hosea Wheeler available. Porter and Turner had been listed as probable, while Wheeler was initially considered questionable before receiving an upgraded status.
Five Baylor players are unavailable for the game: safety Jacob Redding, cornerback Jamarion Richardson, defensive lineman Devonte Tezino, offensive lineman Cayden Tone and wide receiver Ashton Jones.
