Baylor has offered Bear Acy, a five-star basketball prospect in the 2029 class who is ranked No. 7 nationally. Acy is the son of former Baylor forward Quincy Acy, but the younger Acy has not announced a decision on the offer.
Quincy Acy played for Baylor from 2008 through 2012 and received All-Big 12 Defensive Team recognition during the 2011-12 season. The elder Acy was known for his work around the basket, including rebounding, scoring and shot blocking.
The younger Acy is listed at 6 feet, 7 inches and is described in the report as a player capable of contributing on both ends of the court. His size and length could allow him to disrupt passes, block shots and operate near the basket, according to the report.
A potential commitment would give Baylor coach Scott Drew the opportunity to coach a second generation of the Acy family. Drew coached Quincy Acy during each of his four seasons with the Bears after taking over as Baylor's coach in 2003.
