The Cowboys have ruled out four defensive players for their Week 3 meeting with the Ravens in Brazil: cornerback Cobie Durant, safeties Malik Hooker and P.J. Locke, and linebacker DeMarvion Overshown.
None of the four participated in Wednesday or Thursday practice, and they will not travel with Dallas to Rio de Janeiro. Durant injured his hamstring during the Cowboys’ win over Washington after starting the team’s first two games and playing 87 defensive snaps.
Hooker is recovering from a forearm fracture sustained in the season opener against the Giants. He started that game but left after 12 snaps. Locke, who filled in for Hooker in Week 2, sustained a plantar fascia injury against Washington after playing 31 defensive snaps.
Overshown will miss his second consecutive game because of a hamstring strain suffered against the Giants. He started the opener, made seven tackles and left the contest. Jaishawn Barham is expected to continue in an expanded role at linebacker, while second-year cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. is expected to receive more opportunities with Durant unavailable.
Dallas and Baltimore enter the international matchup with 1-1 records. The game is scheduled for 3:25 p.m. CT at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, with the Cowboys designated as the home team.
