Texans Roster Adjustments Before Season Opener Against Bills

The Houston Texans have made significant roster changes ahead of Week 1.

The Houston Texans have announced a series of roster adjustments as they prepare for their Week 1 matchup against the Buffalo Bills at Reliant Stadium on September 13.

The team has waived 22 players, including defensive tackle Dominic Bailey, wide receiver Lewis Bond, and cornerback Brandon Codrington. Other notable players released include linebacker Caleb Johnson and wide receiver Zay Jones, among others.

Additionally, the Texans have waived two players due to injury: defensive end Solomon Byrd and defensive tackle Kyonte Hamilton. The team also released several experienced players, including cornerback Bryce Hall and tight end Brevin Jordan.

In a trade, the Texans have sent center/guard Jarrett Patterson to the San Francisco 49ers. They have also acquired tackle Nathan Thomas from the Dallas Cowboys.

Furthermore, the Texans placed wide receiver Tank Dell and safety Ja'Marcus Ingram on the Reserve/Injured (Designated for Return) list, while defensive end Ali Gaye was placed on the Reserve/Injured list. Linebacker E.J. Speed has been placed on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list.
