The Dallas Cowboys are adjusting their roster before facing the Baltimore Ravens in Rio de Janeiro, with P.J. Locke moving to injured reserve, Barron joining the 53-man roster and cornerback Reddy Steward elevated from the practice squad.
Locke’s foot injury, sustained against the Washington Commanders, will keep him out for at least four more weeks under the injured-reserve designation to return. The Cowboys had initially waited before placing him on the list. Safety Malik Hooker is also unavailable while recovering from a fractured forearm, and is expected to miss a second consecutive game.
Steward was elevated to help at cornerback after Cobie Durant was ruled out with a hamstring injury. Steward played significant snaps for Dallas in 2025 as a nickel cornerback and occasionally at safety. The Cowboys also have Jalen Thompson, Caleb Downs, Markquese Bell and Alijah Clark at safety, while Steward will be available from the practice squad for the Ravens game.
Barron, who played in the previous game after being elevated for the day from the practice squad, has now been placed on the active roster. His addition provides linebacker depth with DeMarvion Overshown sidelined by a hamstring injury. Jaishawn Barham and Dee Winters were injured in the previous game but completed it.
Overshown, Durant, Locke and Hooker were listed as nonparticipants in the Cowboys’ practice report before the trip to Brazil. Linebacker James Houston, who had a shoulder issue, took part fully. Coach Brian Schottenheimer said the team had been dealing with several injuries after the Commanders game.
