The New York Mets defeated the Texas Rangers 7-2 on Thursday, September 24, at Globe Life Field. The decisive moment came in the ninth inning when Jose Baty launched a 455-foot home run to right center. That single play scored four runs, including Baty himself, Morabito, Soto, and Bichette, to seal the victory for the visitors.
Baty’s effort was the largest of the night, capping a dominant offensive display by the Mets.
Early Inning Surge
The Mets established their lead early in the third inning. Juan Soto hit a 429-foot home run to right center, scoring Luis Lindor and giving New York a 2-0 advantage. The Rangers responded in the fifth inning when Nick Burger singled to left, allowing Nimmo to score and cut the deficit to 2-1.
