The 2026 North Texas Giving Day campaign raised more than $76 million from 94,700 donors by midnight on Sept. 17, supporting nonprofits throughout the region. Communities Foundation of Texas organized the 18th annual fundraising event.

Donations went to more than 3,300 organizations working in 25 cause areas, including education, health, social services, arts, environmental efforts and animal welfare. The preliminary total exceeded the $74.2 million collected from 94,000 donors at the same point in 2025. That campaign later reached $78 million after donations were processed through Sept. 30.

Since the event began in 2009, donors have given $788 million to North Texas nonprofits. Dallas also issued a proclamation designating Sept. 17, 2026, as North Texas Giving Day.

Amazon, the event’s presenting sponsor, provided additional support by giving donations to 15 participating nonprofits. Communities Foundation of Texas and its sponsors paid the transaction and technology charges for contributions made through NorthTexasGivingDay.org, allowing the full amount of each tax-deductible gift made through the platform to go to the designated nonprofit.

The online giving platform remains open after the annual event. Communities Foundation of Texas operates it throughout the year for cause campaigns, matching fundraisers, corporate group donations and fundraising organized by nonprofits. The next North Texas Giving Day is scheduled for Sept. 16, 2027. Local Profile reported the fundraising totals and event details.
