Dallas Cowboys safety P.J. Locke left the team’s game against the Washington Commanders after suffering a foot injury during Washington’s opening drive. The injury occurred in Locke’s second game with Dallas.
A replay showed Locke moving in to make a tackle before limping, according to the report. He was assisted off the field by two members of the training staff and later went to the locker room under his own power.
Dallas had already ruled safety Malik Hooker out for the game because of a forearm injury. Locke’s departure added another defensive absence as the Cowboys played their home opener against Washington.
Locke joined Dallas this offseason on a one-year contract worth $4 million after spending his first six NFL seasons with the Denver Broncos. He recorded two tackles in the Cowboys’ season-opening loss to the New York Giants.
