The fair’s main concerts move indoors as opening-week shows continue

The biggest change for a State Fair of Texas concert visit this week is the building. The Chevrolet Main Stage is now inside the Fair Park Coliseum, replacing its familiar outdoor setting.

That relocation changes the destination for returning concertgoers during the fair's first full week. The fair says the indoor venue includes an area for guests needing accessibility assistance, and concert admission remains included with a fair ticket. Bowling for Soup is scheduled Tuesday, Sept. 29, followed by Lee Brice on Wednesday, Sept. 30, and Mini Kiss on Thursday, Oct. 1. For visitors choosing a day around a particular performer, the fair's current artist listing should determine the arrival plan. A ticket to the grounds covers access to the concert program, but it should not be read as a reserved-seat promise.

Returning concertgoers should use the current map to locate the Coliseum before choosing a food stop or meeting point. A remembered route to the outdoor stage will no longer lead to the main concert venue.
